Red Bombers defeat Hurricanes in close game

A perfectly-thrown touchdown pass with just 11 seconds remaining on the clock captured a 25-22 win for the UNB Red Bombers over the Holland College Hurricanes in exciting Atlantic Football League action in Fredericton on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the undefeated Red Bombers (5-0) secured a first-place finish in the standings. With the loss, the Hurricanes (3-2) must settle for second place. Both teams have one regular-season game remaining.

'Canes defeat Tigers in AFL play

Chucky Ortiz came back big from injury and set the tone early as the Holland College Hurricanes held off the Dalhousie Tigers in Atlantic Football League action Saturday. The 28-24 final made it two wins in a row against the Tigers and left the Hurricanes alone in second place at 3-1 with two games left in the regular season. Ortiz ran for 45 yards on the first set of downs and made several Tigers defenders miss badly. Robbie Tufts capped the first series with a touchdown catch to put Holland College up seven before most of the crowd had taken their seats.

Dalhousie Football Club Going Pink for October

(HALIFAX, NS) The Dalhousie Tigers Football Club is excited to partner with Think Pink at Dalhousie University and go Pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness for the Month of October. Not only will the team sport Pink Awareness Ribbons, but the game will be used as a testament to the hard work of volunteers at Dalhousie who strive to bring awareness through the Think Pink campaign. This partnership continues to grow the Tigers' commitment to Community Involvement and adds to a growing list of organizations the Dalhousie Football Club is proud to support.

Holland College spoils Dalhousie homecoming

The Holland College Hurricanes defeated the Dalhousie University Tigers 23-13 in Atlantic Football League action on Saturday night in Halifax. Under rainy skies and in front of an energized homecoming crowd hoping for an upset, the 'Canes came to play. The game was scoreless until the very last play of the first quarter when return man Garvin Cius took in a Dalhousie punt on his own 25-yard line, wove his way through the defenders and then sprinted to the end zone for an 85-yard touchdown. The convert made it 7-0.

Seawolves can't handle Hurricanes

The Holland College Hurricanes opened their 2012 season with a hard-earned 16-7 win over the UNB Saint John Seawolves in Atlantic Football League action Saturday night. The start of the game was delayed by almost three hours because of localized thunderstorms that lit up the sky over Canada Games Stadium, making for unsafe playing conditions.
