Two former Ancaster Avalanche players also got drafted, Reilly Webb and Fedor Gordeev. Both players were drafted in the sixth round. Webb by the Detroit Red Wings and Gordeev by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Other players included Nick Suzuki, Connor Timmins, and Micheal DiPietro. Nick Suzuki, who played for the London Nationals, got drafted thirteenth overall by the Vegas Golden Knight. Colorado started the second round by calling Connor Timmins' name. Timmins played for both the Thorold Blackhawks and the St. Catharines Falcons during the 2014-2015 season. Also recent OHL Memorial Cup Goaltender Micheal DiPietro, got draft in the third round by the Vancouver Canucks, he played between the pipes for the Leamington Flyers.

There have been many players drafted in the NHL who played in the GOJHL including Tanner Pearson, Brandon Montour, and Mark Scheifele. Last year Tyler Wall got drafted by the New York Rangers while he was playing for the Leamington Flyers.
