Former Lumberjack to Play D1
Former Jacks forward Adam Chapie, who played for the Lumberjacks in the 2009-2010 seasons, recently committed to the NCAA D1 Team U Mass Lowell. U Mass is a member of the Hockey East Conference and Chapie will be in the lineup for the 2012-2013 seasons.
Adam is currently in his sophomore year with the NAHL NewMexico Mustangs. Chapie currently has 15 points on this season breaking down in to 8 goals and 7 assists.
“Adam is one of the most dynamic players to ever play for our program.” Stated Jacks Head Coach Bob Jacobson “When he arrived here he had the offensive skills but you couldn't see him if he stood sideways. As that season progressed he began to get bigger and fill out and that combined with his skills allowed him to be a dynamic player for us. He came back and skated this summer during tryouts and it was obvious the amount of time he had spent in the weight room.”
This season the New Mexico Mustangs are 3 and 12 on the season with six points. This weekend they play the Texas Tornado and all the games can be seen on FASTHockey.
