NBL Canada HeadlinesRECHARGE WITH MILK Signs Exclusive Sponsorship
(TORONTO, ON) The Dairy Farmers of Canada’s (DFC) Recharge with Milk has beennamed the exclusive Recovery Product Sponsor of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) and the Title Sponsor for the NBL Pre-Draft Combine and Draft, which will be held from August 25-27 at the Athlete Institute in Orangeville, Ontario.
"This significant sponsorship demonstrates Dairy Farmers of Canada’s strong
commitment to helping the NBLC advance basketball in Canada and to educate coaches
and athletes on the recovery benefits of milk during the entire season,” says Solange
Heiss, assistant director, Marketing and Communications at DFC. “As part of this
sponsorship all NBLC athletes, coaches and dancers will receive chocolate milk after
their games to help them recover.”
Chocolate milk's combination of carbohydrates, high-quality protein, fluid and
electrolytes first made researchers take notice of its potential post-workout recovery
benefits. Chocolate milk has all of these nutritional attributes to help refuel and repair
exhausted muscles. A growing body of evidence suggests that milk can be an effective
sports drink, helping athletes rehydrate, refuel and recharge
(www.rechargewithmilk.ca). And, let’s face it – it tastes great!
Recharge with Milk will also present the NBLC Player of the week, viewed on the NBL
Canada web site and shared via email, Facebook and Twitter all over the country and in
smaller harder to reach communities. DFC’s commitment to Canada’s fast growing sport
is also evident in their sponsorships and support of High School and University
Basketball throughout Ontario and the Maritimes.
“We are very excited about this partnership with the Dairy Farmers of Canada as we
are a growing league, and DFC understands and appreciates this, and are helping us
on the ground floor. Most established leagues did not have the phenomenal start
that we saw last season, and it’s only a matter of time for the NBL Canada to be a
household name and “Recharge with MILK” will be right there with us,” said Andre
Levingston, NBL Canada CEO and President.
