NECHL Announces Details For Championship Weekend
The Northeast Collegiate Hockey League has announced that the 2020 Championship Weekend will be held in Buffalo, NY February 28th-March 1st. The 6-team playoff will be hosted by Canisius College, Niagara University, and the University at Buffalo.
Here is the full schedule for the 3 day tournament:
Friday, February 28th
#3 Seed vs. #6 Seed | 6:00pm
#4 Seed vs. #5 Seed | 9:00pm
Saturday, February 29th
#1 Seed vs. Lowest Remaining Seed | 12:00pm
#2 Seed vs. Highest Remaining Seed | 3:00pm
Sunday, March 1st
NECHL Memorial Cup Final | 1:30pm
All games will be played at the North Buffalo Rink - the same venue that held the event last season.
The winner of Championship weekend will get one of the six auto-bids to the 2020 ACHA Nationals held this year in Frisco, Texas March 19th-29th. The University at Buffalo Bulls are the 2-time defending NECHL regular season and playoff champion. UB has also represented the NECHL in the ACHA National Tournament the last 2 seasons.
