Largest crowd in years at home opener

A great crowd of 1510 fans, their largest in over a decade, came to cheer on the Vets at Southwood Arena on Sep.15

for their annual Free Home Opener !!!

Vets spoil rival Merchants party

The Navy Vets fresh off a big opening night win travelled down the road to meet the arch-rival Merchants in Norwich ...

newcomer Kyle Walker took control of the game in the 3rd period by setting up the team's 1st goal

and then scoring a natural hat-trick

as the Vets spoiled the Merchants 50th Anniversary Season opener !!!

 

Vets open season with 3 straight wins

The Navy Vets started the season with a 3-0 record for the 1st time in over a decade ...

a close 4-2 loss in Ayr ended the streak ...

 

Heartbreaking loss spurs winning streak

The Navy Vets lost a heartbreaker 1-0 to Ayr with 10 seconds left in the OT period at Southwood on Oct.06 ...

that seemed to charge up the team, and especially Justin Elms, as it went on a streak of 5 straight wins ...

 

beginning with a win in Paris the following night on 2 3rd period goals,

an OT win at home over Paris on a goal by Elms,

a win in Wellesley with Mike Harrison getting 2nd shutout in the 3 games he had played,

an OT win in Tavistock with Elms getting the last minute tying goal and another OT winner,

and a win at home over Norwich with Elms getting yet another game winning goal with 6 minutes left ...

 

 

Vets offence explodes

Following their worst outing of the season so far, an embarrassing 5-2 loss at home to Tavistock,

the Vets had their biggest offensive output in 10 years with a 12-2 drubbing of the Bulldogs in Burford ...

Justin Elms continued his surge with a hat-trick and veteran Austin Richardson netted a hat-trick as well ...

 

Winning streak pushes Vets to the top at the halfway point

The 12-2 blowout win in Burford started the Vets on their current streak of 8 consecutive wins

that has pushed them into 1st place at the top of the PJHL Doherty Division standings ...

including an OT win at home over New Hamburg with Kyle Walker getting the winner with 13 seconds left,

a 6-2 win in Tavistock in probably their best game of the season so far,

and 3 straight road wins ending with a comeback win in Paris to close out the 1st half of the season ...
