Newmarket Hurricanes alternate captain Cameron Nicoll (photo credit - Shawn Muir/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the University of Waterloo Warriors beginning with the 2015-16 OUA season.

The Loretto, Ontario native is a product of the York-Simcoe Express 'AAA' organization, having played most of the 2011-12 season as a member of the nearby Alliston Hornets Junior 'C' club.  Nicoll helped lead the Hornets to another GMOJCL title before ultimately falling in the OHA Championship Final to the Grimsby Peach Kings.

The following year Nicoll joined the OJHL full-time as a member of the Wellington Dukes.  He would spend one season in Wellington, registering 5 goals and 11 points in 38 regular season contests.  Just prior to the start of the 2013-14 season, Nicoll would be moved closer to home, joining the Newmarket Hurricanes, where he would spend the next two seasons.  He would post similar offensive stats with 37 and 36 points respectively in 2013-14 and 2014-15, while finishing second in scoring on the club this past season with 14 goals to close out his junior career.

Congratulations to Cameron and best of luck in the OUA!
