BROWN COMMITS TO UNION
Wellington Dukes alternate captain Luc Brown (photo credit - Ed McPherson/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Union College Dutchmen beginning with the 2016-17 ECAC season.
The Napanee, Ontario native is now in his fourth season with the Dukes having increased his offensive production each year. He joined the Dukes as a 16-year old in 2012-13 out of the Quinte Red Devils Minor Midget 'AAA' organization. During his second season with the Dukes, Brown would participate in the 2014 Dudley-Hewitt Cup, helping the host club to the championship game before falling to the OJHL champion Toronto Lakeshore Patriots.
Thus far this season, Brown leads the Dukes in scoring with 11 goals and 22 points in just 15 games played, while earlier this month he was recognized as OJHL Gongshow Gear North-East Conference Player-of-the-Month runner-up for September. On October 4, he had a four point game in a 5-4 win at the Whitby Fury, which included his 100th career regular season OJHL point.
Dukes General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams stated, "It's great to see Luc commit to Union College. Since his arrival to our program as a 16-year old, he has put in the time and effort over the past three plus seasons to improve himself as a player and now is seeing the rewards of all his hard work. As a previous winner of our team Scholastic Player of the Year Award, I have no doubt Luc will be a success both on the ice and academically."
Congratulations to Luc on the commitment and we look forward to seeing him close-out his OJHL career!
