JACOME NAMED SW PLAYER OF MONTH
The OJHL announced today that Georgetown Raiders alternate captain Brendan Jacome (photo credit - Tim Bates/OJHL Images) has been named the Gongshow Gear South-West Conference Player-of-the-Month for November after scoring four game-winning goals during the month.
The Raiders leading scorer with 33 points on the season, Jacome recorded points in all but one of the club's nine November match-ups for his best offensive month of the season thus far. Even more impressive was the fact that he notched the game-winner in four of the Raiders' five victories, including three consecutive wins from November 18-22. Jacome registered multiple points in four games, including a five point outing in a victory over Mississauga on November 18 and finished the month with 8 goals and 16 points in just nine games played.
The 20-year old native of Caledon, Ontario is currently in his fourth full season as a member of the Raiders, having joined the club as a 16/17-year old in 2012-13 out of the Brampton Battalion Midget 'AAA' organization. Jacome has steadily increased his offensive production during each of his four years, finishing fourth on the Raiders in scoring in 2014-15 with 20 goals and 36 points in 54 games played, helping Georgetown capture the OJHL South-West Conference regular season crown. He is currently on pace to surpass all of his career offensive highs set last season, sitting fourth among all OJHL scorers with 19 goals and third overall with 7 power play goals and 7 game-winning goals.
Zach Evancho of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres was runner-up to Jacome as the South-West Conference Player-of-the-Month. For the second consecutive month, the Jr. Sabres captain took home runner-up honours after recording 18 points in 11 games played throughout November.
