RAIDERS ARE SW CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS

The Burlington Cougars tried to dig themselves out of a five-goal hole, but the Georgetown Raiders held on for a 5-3 victory.
Georgetown took a 5-0 lead during the second period, only to have Burlington storm back on a Stefano Alonzi goal 19:46 into the third period to pull to two goals down.
The win by the Raiders clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.
Georgetown took advantage of the Cougars' penalties, tallying three goals off of three power play opportunities.
The Raiders were led by Brendan Jacome, who registered two goals. Jacome scored the first of his two goals at 6:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown. Zack Dybowski picked up the assist. Jacome's next tally made the score 5-0 Georgetown with 4:02 left in the second period. Georgetown had gotten the advantage when Burlington's David Kiss was sent off for interference. Jack Jacome assisted on the tally. Georgetown also had goals scored by Jordan Crocker, Daniel Hardie, and Josh Dickinson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Georgetown came via Austin Cho and Matthew Cairns, who each chipped in one.
The Cougars kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Masters made 48 saves on 51 shots. Burlington got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
Burlington also got a goal from Willy Paul as well. In addition, Burlington received assists from Jordan Peacock, Philip Lagunov, Nathan Gomes, and Tyler Riter, who contributed one each.
Georgetown incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andrew Lee took the loss and made 14 saves before being replaced by Austin Washkurak who made five saves. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
