The OJHL announced today that Lindsay Muskies captain Cameron Lamport (photo credit - Tim Bates/OJHL Images) has been named the Bardown North-East Conference Player-of-the-Month for December after leading the league with nine goals during the month.

The Muskies leader and top scorer, Lamport continued his impressive play from November and carried a 12-game point streak into the middle of the month.  With nine goals in nine games played, Lamport kicked-off December with back-to-back hat tricks versus Toronto and Newmarket.  He registered points in all but one game during the month and multiple points in four contests, including three separate three point outings.  Lamport's fifteen December points were tied for third best among all players, while all but two points were recorded at even strength.

A native of Cannington, Ontario, Lamport is a product of the Central Ontario Wolves 'AAA' organization, before joining the Ajax-Pickering Raiders Midget 'AAA' squad in 2014-15.  Notching 40 goals and 89 points for the Raiders, Lamport got the call to play his first junior games as a member of the nearby Pickering Panthers, recording his first point, an assist, in three OJHL games played that season.  Last season he made the full-time jump to the OJHL with the Markham Royals as a 16-year old.  With a slow start to the year, registering only two points in 23 contests, Lamport was traded to the Muskies and saw his offensive game take hold.  Recording his first junior goal, he finished the year with 3 goals and 12 points in 45 regular season games.  Entering this season, Lamport was one of the club's leaders both on-and-off the ice, earning the coveted 'C' on his chest.  He immediately tasted further offensive success this season and jumped to the top of the Muskies scoring chart, while earning a spot on Team OJHL Nieuwendyk at the 2016 Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge held in Cornwall, Ontario, notching a single goal in four games played.  He currently leads Lindsay in most offensive categories, while more than tripling his previous career bests in goals (16) and points (42).

Lucas Condotta of the Markham Royals was runner-up to Lamport as the North-East Conference Player-of-the-Month.  Condotta tied for the league lead with 12 assists and 16 points in 10 games played during December.
