Being a member of back-to-back Dudley-Hewitt Cup winners has been a big thrill for TRENTON GOLDEN HAWKS Captain MAC LEWIS (Photo by John Lewis / OJHL Images) but he wants to go one better this season and hold the RBC Cup. Trenton has been the Uxbridge native's only OJHL team.
Though the Golden Hawks have not got off to a super-fast start this campaign, he has no worries about his club, noting the experience of the returnees and the enthusiasm of the younger players. He lauds the fans for their continued support, they play a big part in the successes of the team, he says.
Though he can be vocal on and off the ice, he likes to set the tone with his play and notes how it is important to make each shift count. Keeping things relaxed is important to Mac but when the whistle blows it's all business. The potential is still there for a Dudley three-peat, he says, and he is personally off to a very fast start to the season which should see him eclipse his previous high point totals. He looks forward to continuing his hockey career at the NCAA D3 level if not higher.
