BELOW THE C’S: FLYERS CAPTAIN LIKES BALANCED ATTACK IN ORANGEVILLE
A series of stories on the team captains in the Ontario Junior Hockey League during the 2017-18 season:

Once again it was a very young West Division ORANGEVILLE FLYERS team that took the ice this season but that isn't a problem says first-year captain ZACK LYONS. (Photo by Andy Corneau / OJHL Images)
Eric Theander, acquired from the CCHL's Hawkesbury Hawks and a player who also has major junior experience, is the only one on the team in his final year of Junior hockey. Theander is one of the assistant captains along with high-scoring defenceman Hudson Lambert.
Zack, who wore an 'A' for the last campaign and registered over a point per game, looks to do the same again this time around. It will be interesting to see the players develop as the season’s second half progresses, he says.
No one line is being relied on for offense, he points out, but it's a club that can do damage whoever is on the ice.
Former Brampton Bomber Brendon Landry and Hill Academy product Eric Doner are goalies who make sure the netminding duties are in capable hands.
Zack exudes a quiet confidence and under his leadership fans at Alder Street should be looking forward to a solid end of season and a trip to the playoffs.
