The North American Cup allows players to play for their country.

The North American Cup division is available in all age groups.  The North American Cup will feature up to 3-6 Canadian Teams vs up to 3-6 US teams.  We will supply team Canada and USA Jerseys and Socks.  In the round robin each Canadian team will play each US team and vice versa.

Can Am Championship Game

The final will be each team playing 1 - 20 min stop time period against the same seeded opponent with a cumulative score determining the winner. During the final round: any score during games played between 4-5 seeds cannot be posted as greater than 3.  Example:  A score of 5-0 between the 5 seeded teams will be reflected a 3-0 for scoring purposes

Here's how it works the Can Am works

5 game guarantee

Rounds 1-5.   2 minute warm-up.  Teams will play 12-12-15 minute stop time periods. 2002 Age group will be 12-15-15 stop time

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND         2 minute warm-up. Teams will play a 20 minute period.
1.      Any forfeited games will be recorded as a 3-0 score. 
2.      Use of ineligible players will disqualify a team from the tournament.  All games played by a disqualified team will be forfeited.  No monies will be refunded.
3.      A team ahead by 5 goals in the 3rd period will result in run time.
4.      There are no timeouts allowed
5.      In Rounds 1,3,5, team Canada will designated as the home team. In Rounds 2,4,6 Team USA will be the home team. The team that has accumulated the moist points in the preliminary round will be the home team in the final game.

In the preliminary round, each win will earn two points for the country and a tie will earn one point for each country.

The final game will run a continuous score 3 period game from period to period and the country with the highest score at the end will be awarded the championship. SEEDING CRITERIA for final round. Each team will be seeded within its country against other teams to determine the order in which they will play the final round. The winning round robin country will start the championship game with a 1-0 lead.  The criteria to be used is as follows:

1.      Goals for less goals against  
2.      Fewest goals against
3.      Number of shutouts
4.      Fewest penalty minutes
5.      Fastest goal for in game 1
6.      Coin toss 

2002 DIVISION

The round robin portion of the event will be the same as in the 2004 division with the same tie breakers.

The Championship Round in the 2002 Divsion will feature each team playing 1 20 minute period.  A tie in the championship game after regulation will result in the following.

1.  Shootout each team designates 3 shooters.  If tied after 3 it will be single elimination where a shooter can be selected again to shoot.

The winning country of the Round Robin will start Championship Sunday with a 1 goal advantage.
