FEBRUARY
The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the Next Recruit/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for February. The Player of the Month is Alex Gilmour of the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Gilmourrecently earned the league’s 1st star for the month of February and collected 18 (10G, 8A) points in eleven games. The Lumber Kings forward enjoyed five multiple point games while being selected a game star in six contests. The Toronto, ON native leads the Lumber Kings in overall scoring with 45 (23G, 22A) points in 32 games and helped Pembroke to a 8-2-1 record for the month. The Goalie of the Month and Rookie of the Month honors both go to Colton Point of theCarleton Place Canadians . The Canadians net-minder went undefeated with a 6-0-0-1 record in February which helped keep Carleton Place at the top of the CCHL standings. The North Bay, ON native posted an outstanding 1.52 Goals Against and stellar .949 Save Percentage including two shutouts. The Colgate University commit earned four game stars for his efforts and has an overall record of 22-5-1-1. Point is currently 1st overall in Goals Against (2.20), 4th in Save Percentage with (.915) and 2nd in the league with 6 shutouts.

FEBRUARY GONGSHOW ACADEMIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce the Gongshow Academic Player of the Month for February is Cameron Crotty of the Brockville Braves. Crotty, a 16-year old defenseman has had an outstanding season on the ice, his skills have earned him a scholarship to St.Lawrence University for 2018-19. Cameron has played major minutes for the Braves in his rookie season, he has a regular shift and also earns ice time on the powerplay and penalty kill.
The Greely, ON native has played 53 games this season, posting 3 goals and 12 assists with 38 PIM. Cameron has not only excelled on the ice but also in the classroom. His efforts secured him an 88% average in his latest high school report card which featured 94% in Biology, 94% in English, and 89% in Athropology, Sociolgy, and Psychology.
The CCHL also congratulates the following players who accepted NCAA scholarship offers in February.

JANUARY
The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the Next Recruit/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for January. The Player of the Month is Derek Varrin of the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Varrin who recently earned the league’s 1st star for the month of January amassed 18 (9G, 9A) points in eleven games. The Lumber Kings forward enjoyed seven multiple point games while being selected a game star in five games. The Greely, ON native leads the Lumber Kings in overall scoring with 35 (18G, 17A) points in 49 games and helped the Pembroke to a 7-3-1 record for the month. The Goalie of the Month honor goes to Cumberland Grads Thierry Messervier. The Cumberland goaltender was solid with a 4-1-2 record in January helping the Grads remain a top team in the CCHL. The Carigan, QC native posted a 3.0 Goals Against and .904 Save Percentage while only losing twice in regulation in his last 17 starts. Messevier is 15-2-4-1 is currently 7th overall with a 2.52 and tied for 1st in Save Percentage with .917. The Rookie of the Month for January is Bobby Dow of the Kemptville 73’s. Dow was instrumental in the 73’s posting a stellar 8-1-2 record for the month. The Ottawa, ON native collected 12 (8G, 4A) points in ten games including a hat-trick and 5 point game against the Kanata Lasers. He also earned two 1st game stars and will play an integral role for the 73’s in the years to come.

JANUARY GONGSHOW ACADEMIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The CCHL is pleased to announce that the Gongshow Academic Player of the Month for January is Charles Levesque of the Hawkesbury Hawks. Charles is enjoying an outstanding rookie season as he has been a repeat winner for this same award and voted the league’s Rookie of the Month for both November and December. Also being acknowledged are three players who earned Honorable Mention in this month’s voting. Jared Henry of the Smith Falls Bears, Kemptville 73’s Jake Gaudet, and Salim Mahi-Beaudry of the Gloucester Rangers have also accelerated on the ice and in the classroom.
Charles Levesque, Hawkesbury Hawks Academic Player of the Month.
Hawkesbury Hawk forward Charles Levesque received final high school marks of 89 in English, 86 in Math and 86 in French. He also collected 14 (3 G, 11 A) points in 11 games in January. Charles has previously been named Academic Player of the Month for October, two-time Rookie of the Month, and Player of the Week once so far this season. He currently is the Hawks top scorer with 52 points in 50 games, and leads all CCHL Rookies in overall league scoring.
Jared Henry, Smith Falls Bears, Honorable Mention, Academic Player of the Month
With a full course load in the Business Program, Jared Henry maintains an 83% average at St Lawrence College and still manages to make a full commitment to the Smiths Falls Bears. He leads by example both on and off the ice averaging over 25 minutes of ice time per game recording 2 assists through the month of January. He is a reliable stay at home defenseman who has great vision and play-making abilities. Jared was also a key member of the CCHL Robinson team in thisyears All Star Challenge.
Jake Gaudet, Kemptville 73’s Honorable Mention, Academic Player of the Month
The Kemptville 73’s forward is currently working towards a degree in Biology and Biotechnology from Carleton University. Jake received an A in his Introduction to Business and Communications Technology course this semester, having earned an A+ and A's on his course work and final exam. He has already applied his coursework in school to build his own business, Produce To You, (www.producetoyou.ca). In the month of January, Jake continues to be offensive powerhouse for the 73's, collecting 10 points in 9 games and 33 points for the season to date.
Salim Mahi-Beaudry, Gloucester Rangers Honorable Mention, Academic Player of the Month
Salim Mahi-Beaudry has 9 points, 2 goals and 7 assists, in 10 games this month and 40 points for the season. Salim also excels in the classroom, maintaining an 87% average taking five courses at CEGEP this season.
The CCHL also extends its congratulations to the following nominees for academic player of the month for attaining a 90% or higher average on their first term report cards: Eric Faith (Brockville Braves), Elie Boulerice (Ottawa Junior Senators) and Kris Lalonde (Pembroke Lumber Kings).

DECEMBER
The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the Next Recruit/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for December. The Player of the Month is Neil Robinson of the Brockville Braves. Robinsoncollected 12 (9G,3A) points in eight games while earning an impressive four 1st game stars. The Pointe Claire, QC native was named CCHL’s 1st Star for the month of December and has been a key for the Braves recent surge to 2nd place in the Robinson division. The Holy Cross commit currently leads the league in goals with 29 and is 4th overall in league scoring with 45 (29G, 16A) points in 37 games. The Goalie of the Month honor goes to Ottawa Jr. Senators Ian Andriano. The Ottawa goaltender was outstanding with a 5-1 record in December keeping the Jr. Senators atop the Yzerman division .Andriano led all goalies with five wins, including back to back shut-outs against the Carleton Place Canadians and Gloucester Rangers before the break. The Barrie, ON native only allowed 9 goals in six games posting an impressive 1.55 Goals Against and a .942 Save Percentage. The Jr. Senators netminder is currently 4th overall with a 2.54 Goals Against and 9th in Save Percentage with .905.The Rookie of the Month for December is Charles Levesque of the Hawkesbury Hawks. Levesque who won the same honor for November continues his stellar play which helped the Hawks to a 5-1-0-1 record in December. The Hawks forward collected 10 (5G, 5A) points in seven games which also included 2 game winning goals. The Russell, ON native currently leads all rookies in overall league scoring with 38 (15G, 23A) points in 40 games as the Hawks remain a top team in the league.

DECEMBER GONGSHOW ACADEMIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The CCHL is pleased to announced that the Gongshow Academic Player of the
Month for December is Owen Grant of the Carleton Place Canadians. Grant has
definitely displayed his talents on the ice and in the classroom. A grade
12 student, Grant's average is over 90% with a very difficult course load
which includes: physics, advanced functions, French immersion and
organizational studies. On the ice, he is recognized as one of the league's
top defenseman for the Nationally ranked Canadians. The Stittsville, ON
native earned a spot on the Team Canada East roster which competed in the
World Junior A Challenge held in Whitby, ON in December. He logs top minutes
for the Canadians and his 20 (5G, 15A) points is 12th overall among
defenseman in the league. Owen scored an outstanding 1800 on the SAT, couple
that with his play on the ice he was able to secure a scholarship to the
University of Vermont.
CCHL also offers congratulations to both Vincenzo Renda from the Brockville
Braves who accepted an NCAA scholarship offer from the US Air Force Academy
and Owen Guy who committed to Lake Superior State.

NOVEMBER
The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the Next Recruit/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for November. The Player of the Month is Shawn Cameron of the Cumberland Grads. Cameronfinally earns the honor after being an Honorable Mention for both the month of September and October. The Grads forward accumulated 19 (10G, 9A) points in 11 games while earning 3 game stars. The Sherbrooke, QC native is currently enjoying a 15 game scoring streak while sitting 2nd in overall league scoring with 50 (24G, 26A) points in 31 games. The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) commit has only been held scoreless in 3 games while the Grads crack the CJHL Top 20 for the first time in franchise history. Cameron is one of the main reasons the Grads have rebounded from only 15 wins and missing play-offs last year to securing 22 wins already this year and 2nd overall in the entire CCHL. The Goalie of the Month honor goes to Brockville Braves Henry Johnson. The Braves goaltender recently earned CCHL Player of the Week honors, his play this past month was spectacular with a 6-1 record. Johnson led all goalies with six wins, posted three shut-outs, an impressive 1.29 Goals Against and .957 Save Percentage. The Minneapolis, MN earned three 1st game stars, his league leading 6 shut-outs broke the Braves 53 year old franchise single season record. The Brockville netminder is currently 4th overall with a 2.49 Goals Against and his .917 Save Percentage is good for 2nd in the CCHL. TheRookie of the Month for November is Charles Levesque of the Hawkesbury Hawks. Levesque collected 11 (2G, 9A) points in 11 games which led the team in scoring for the month. The Hawks forward was named CCHL Academic Player of the Month for October and also an Honorable Mention Rookie of the Month for both September and October. The Russell, ON native currently sits 2nd overall in rookie scoring with 28 (10G, 18A) points in 32 games.

NOVEMBER GONGSHOW ACADEMIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce that the
Gongshow Academic Player of the Month is Kevin Groulx of the Smith's Falls
Bears. Groulx has managed to combine an outstanding academic performance at
Algonquin College with an extraordinary performance on the ice for the
Bears. Kevin is a full-time student in Algonquin's Business Program, he has
successfully maintained an A- average across all courses in the fall term.
Not only has the Bears forward shown strength and commitment in his
academics, he has emerged as a leader both on and off the ice and a reason
for their success thus far. The Stittsville, ON enjoyed a great month
collecting 15 (5G, 10A) points this month while keeping the Bears in the
hunt for 2nd place in the Robinson division. Groulx is 4th in team scoring
averaging over a point per game 23 (8G, 15A) points in 21 games.

OCTOBER
The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce their Next Recruit/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for October. The ninth nationally ranked Carleton Place Canadians feature two of the three award winners this month. The Player of the Month is Canadians forward Lucas Batt. Batt amassed 23 (9G, 14A) points in 10 games helping the Canadians to an 8-2 record for October. The Canadians forward earned (5) game stars while also being selected to represent the Robinson division in the upcoming Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge (ECCASC). The Lewisporte, NL native currently leads the league in scoring with 42 (17G, 25A) points in 24 games. TheGoalie of the Month is Francis Marotte of the Nepean Raiders. The Raiders goaltender singlehandedly helped his team get back to their winning ways in October. Marotte went 5-2-1-1 in his nine starts while earning (5) game stars for his efforts. The Nepean netminder posted a stellar .934 Save Percentage stopping 267 of the 286 shots he faced and a 2.1 Goals Against. The Longeuil, QC native is currently 6th overall with a 2.65 Goals Against and .921 Save Percentage 2nd in the CCHL. Brett Murray of the Carleton Place Canadians is the Rookie of the Month for October. Murray collected 10 (2G 8A) points in 10 games and continues to be an impact player for the Canadians in his inaugural season. The Bolton, ON native was recently honored as CCHL Player of the Week, and currently leads all rookies in league scoring with 26 (10G 16A) points in 24 games. Murray will also join teammate and Player of the Month Lucas Batt on the Robinson Division All-Star team for November 16-18 ECCASC event in Cornwall. The Canadians forward has committed to Penn State for the 2017-18 season and was included in the initial 2016 NHL Central Scouting Pre-Season Watch list.

OCTOBER GONGSHOW ACADEMIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The CCHL is pleased to award the Gongshow Academic Player of the Month for
October to Charles Levesque of the Hawkesbury Hawks. Levesque, is a forward
with the Hawkesbury Hawks from Russell, ON. In his rookie campaign with the
Hawks he's already made an impact on the ice and specifically in the
classroom. As a full time High School Student, Charles is averaging an A in
all his classes on tests and assignments for both September and October. On
the ice, he has accumulated 17 points (eight goals and nine assists) in 22
games, is one of the leading scorers as a rookie and third overall for the
team. Levesque was an Honorable Mention for rookie of the month in September
and will play an integral role in the Hawks future.
Honorable mention - Paul Vella of the Gloucester Rangers, on the ice, Paul
is second in team scoring with 12 points on three goals and nine assists.
Paul also excelled in the classroom completing in just two months a
full-credit marketing course online at the University of Phoenix. His final
mark was 91% with a 95% on his final assignment. It takes extraordinary
dedication to do an online course, to complete it in two months and get an
A+ is an impressive accomplishment.
SEPTEMBER
The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce their initial 2015-16 Next Recruit/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for September. The Player of the Month is Jordan Larson of the Carleton Place Canadians. Larson had a great opening month accumulating 23 (8G, 15A) points in the first 12 games and has only been held scoreless in one. The Canadians forward earned (6) game stars while winning First Star in the CCHL Three Stars for September. The Fort Frances, ON native currently leads the league in scoring with 26 (10G, 16A) points. He has helped lead last year’s National Finalist to top spot overall in CCHL standings 11-2-1 record. The Goalie of the Month honor goes to Smiths Falls Bears Evan DeBrouwer. The Bears goaltender recently earned CCHL Player of the Week honors, has played every minute of every game and continues to impress each outing. DeBrouwer led all goalies with wins (9), posted (2) shut-outs and an impressive 2.26 Goals Against and .921 Save Percentage. The Blenheim, ON native is currently 5thoverall with a 2.23 Goals Against and .921 Save Percentage 4th in the CCHL. The Rookie of the Month for September isSam Meisenheimer of the Ottawa Jr. Senators. Meisenheimer collected 9 (6G 3A) points in 8 games while earning (3) 1st game stars. His points have come in bunches as he posted (4) multi-point games and (2) multi-goal games. The 17 year-old rookie has had a very impressive start already winning a league Player of the Week Award this season. The Stittsville, ON native has been instrumental in the Ottawa Jr. Senators success to date and is garnering a lot of attention from NCAA schools.
