NESHL Job Opportunities

The NESHL is currently looking for Scorekeepers, Referees and Coaches in many of its leagues.  If you are interested in these positions, please note the following:

All applicants should be aware that we are an adult hockey league and as such most of our games are played at night, (with the exception of our BU Sunday morning league) with our latest games starting at/around 10:30pm and ending at approximately 11:30pm.   All refs, scorers and coaches l All All are contract workers only, and not regular employees, and as such, are not entitled to any benefits.  You are responsible for reporting your 1099 income and for paying all taxes on monies earned, which we report on a 1099 form annually for everyone earning more than $600.  

  • Referees must have a MINIMUM of 1 year experience reffing at the high school level or higher, and have already received certification from one of the following agencies...USA Hockey, NIHOA, or NCAA, and must have all necessary equipment.  Referee pay rates vary depending on rink location and experience, but typically run between $35-$45 range per one hour game, based on game set vs solo, rink location and time of game.
  • Scorers must be at least 16 years of age because of the late hours, they must have a regular (not junior) drivers license and reliable transportation, that is not dependent on anyone else.  They must have easy access to a home computer or laptop (not a Mac) as well as have some basic computer proficiency.  Familiarity with Pointstreak or other real time game scoring systems is a plus.  You will be paid to train on our scoring system, and new Scorekeepers are paid $17-$22 per one hour game based on game set vs. solo games and varying by rink location.  Please note that if you are under 18 you will need to have a parent/guardian sign your agreement form as well. 
  • Coaches must have at least 3 years experience coaching at the adult, college or high school level.  Coaching pay rates vary depending on experience and rink location.

All workers are paid monthly via direct deposit on/around the 10th of the month for the prior month's work.  We now have direct deposit and this is the only method of payment for workers in the league.  This allows you to get your pay safely and securely and saves paper.  Please be sure to complete the direct deposit form below, in addition to the W-9 and the appropriate agreement form, as this is now required of all workers.
