About The DuPage Pistol Shrimp

Named for the “deadliest animal on the planet,” the Pistol Shrimp collegiate wood bat baseball team competes in the 16 team Prospect League which spans the Midwest from Missouri to West Virginia.  The nationally-recognized highly competitive amateur Prospect League is comprised of college players who have aspirations to play professionally. It’s a wonderful way to see tomorrow’s stars play today!

The Pistol Shrimp are proud to call Veterans Memorial Park in Peru, Illinois our home field this summer as we play a 60 game season from the end of May to Mid-August. In our inaugural 2019 season, the Pistol Shrimp was one of four teams to qualify for the playoffs, which was a tremendous accomplishment for a first-year franchise.  Individually, Kyle Kolb set a Prospect League record with 10 RBI’s in a single game (including two Grand Slams at Benedictine), and Fineas Del Bonita-Smith was drafted by the Colorado Rockies.  We hosted several successful Theme Nights, fundraisers, group outings, and firmly established ourselves as affordable, fun, and family-friendly entertainment

In addition to developing up and coming baseball players from around the country, the Pistol Shrimp games provide a way for students in a variety of other fields to gain valuable work and internship experience.  The Pistol Shrimp employ interns working towards sports management, marketing, communications, athletic training, and many other college degrees.
