The Sunflower Collegiate League (SCL), a not for profit 501(c)3 summer collegiate baseball league, played our inaugural season during the summer of 2017 as a Premiere League Affiliate of the National Baseball Congress. In our first year we had two of our members finish in the top 5 at the National Baseball Congress World Series. In 2019 our league finished the NBCWS with a record of 23-11, with 6 of the losses coming to our own league. The Cheney Diamond Dawgs earned the leagues highest finish ever as the runner-up, while the Derby Twins tied for 5th and Haysville Aviators and Great Bend Bat Cats tied for 9th.
The league is made up of 10 independently owned teams in South Central Kansas playing in Andale, Cheney, Derby, El Dorado, Great Bend, Haysville, Hutchinson, Mulvane, Newton and Rose Hill.
Working together as a league, and not just as individual teams, our goal is to provide a cost effective opportunity for both local and college players from across the United States to come to communities in Kansas and play summer baseball. But not only do we want them to become better baseball players over the summer, we would like them to become better young men as well. We feel there is not a better place than Kansas to accomplish all of these things!
