McGrath began his tenure as Commissioner in 2013 following nine seasons as the Executive Vice President and General Manager for the North Adams SteepleCats. McGrath’s involvement in the NECBL has spanned from player, coach, front office, to league Commissioner. His playing resume includes three years of professional baseball in the New York Mets minor league system, and also was a three-year letterwinner at the University of New Hampshire, as well as a Drury High (Mass.) graduate. Sean McGrath is a native of North Adams and currently works in Development at Williams College. He resides in North Adams with his wife Kristine, and daughters Kayla and Megan. |

Deputy Commissioner Gregg Hunt

Gregg Hunt has a longtime connection with the NECBL. He managed the Torrington Twisters throughout their existence, and then was named manager of the Manchester Silkworms. He has the most wins of any NECBL manager. Currently serving as head basketball and baseball coach at Wamogo Regional High School, Hunt has also been involved in high school sports for over 30 years, guiding both Thomaston and Terryville High schools to appearances in the Class S State Baseball Finals. He is a member of the Tri-State League Hall of Fame and continues to play for both the Washington Monuments and Washington Senators of the Northeast Baseball Association. A 1980 graduate of the University of Connecticut’s School of Business, Hunt has two children: David – a second-year Law student at Boston College – and Kaitlin, a junior at the University of South Carolina. Hunt lives in Bethlehem, Conn. |

DeRosa has served as President of the NECBL since 2010 after serving in the same capacity for the North Adams SteepleCats for six years. In 2004, for his work with the SteepleCats, John was given the Francis H Hayden Community Service Award by the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of Holy Cross College and Boston College Law School, DeRosa is a partner in the law firm of DeRosa Dohoney LLP, with offices in North Adams and Pittsfield, Mass. He is general counsel to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, Inc. and also serves as a trustee and its treasurer. He has served as counsel to the City of North Adams since 1983. He is also the founder of the North Adams Partnership, a community development non-profit corporation charged with the redevelopment of North Adams, and currently serves as its President. |

Martin Hough moved to the US from his native England in 2004 pursuing a Finance career with Smiths Group plc firstly in Springfield MA and now as Finance Director of the company’s Aerospace Division in Laconia NH. In addition to this, Hough has served on several non-profit boards including the Laconia Baseball Foundation, Gilmanton Youth Organization and the Belknap Mill Society. In 2016, Hough became associated with the NECBL firstly as a fan and host family at the Winnipesaukee Muskrats before joining the Muskrats board and playing a major role in team operations thru the 2022 season. Hough graduated from Sheffield University (UK) with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics & Geography (1999) and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) in 2002. He lives in Gilmanton NH with his wife Carey, two boys (Adam and Connor) and two dogs! |

Alex Gutierrez joins the NECBL staff as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting in 2024. Gutierrez brings extensive experience and educational background to the position, having worked in athletic communications offices both as an undergraduate and a Master’s degree candidate and now as an Assistant Sports Information Director at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The native of Maine returned to New England in 2021 after a two-year stint at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Gutierrez served as a Graduate Assistant of Athletic Communications and Game Operations as a primary contact for various Division II programs while also helping run game operations for all home events and creating content for the Railsplitters’ website and social media platforms. Prior to heading to Tennessee, Gutierrez was a four-year member of the Sports Information Office at Saint Joseph’s College (ME). Gutierrez was instrumental in all aspects of game day coverage for the Monks, including statistics, play-by-play, public address, media relations and event supervision. |

Mike joined the NECBL team in 2013 after being the Electronic Media Manager for the North Adams SteepleCats for 3 years. Merrill resides in Adams MA with his wife Avis as they enjoy their empty nest years. Often a very busy house with one to thirteen of thirteen Grandchildren visiting. Mike currently works as a Systems Administrator for Dominion Dealer Solutions. |
