
The Ontario Hockey Association in partnership with the Roger Neilson's Coaches Clinic and in conjunction with Hockey Canada is pleased to announce their 2016 Coaches Certification Program taking place on June 10-12th (Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday) at the University of Windsor.
Those who register for the OHA Certification program will receive additional information and training through Hockey Canada’s program allowing them to obtain their Development 1 Certification. Development 1 Coach Certification is the minimum requirement for those coaches who participate in the OHA program. Participants will be able to enhance their coaching knowledge at the clinic by attending seminars specially designed for the Development 1 Coaches model. The Certification program is also open to coaches in minor hockey. Check your local or member partner website to see specifics.
The 2016 Coaches clinic is a three day seminar which will provide junior and minor hockey coaches across Ontario the opportunity to learn from the experiences of some of the games top coaches from the NHL, AHL and European Leauges. Seminar topics include hockey experts sharing their personal experiences of the new challenges coaches face with the new rule emphasis, season planning, offensive and defensive team play, tryouts and training camps plus much more.
Instructors and presenters for the clinic will be announced in upcoming weeks.
The OHA is asking that those teams who have new coaches who require either their Development 1 Trained Certification to please CLICK HERE and fill out the application, ensuring you recognize you are attending both the Roger Neilson's Coaches Clinic as well as taking the OHA Development 1 Certification Program.
