Merchants 40th Anniversary Mid-Season Update

The Merchants 40th Anniversary Season is well underway. The Merchants win-loss record of 6-17-2-1 doesn't truly reflect the success the team has had after not winning a single game last season.

The Merchants have been very competitive in almost every game with many contests being decided by one or two goals. Only a handful of players returned from last year so it has been a rebuilding year. The roster includes a lot of young, talented, local players that are sure to lead the team into a successful future.

Former Lindsay Muskies player and off-season acquisition, Cam Robinson, leads the PJHL Orr Division in goals with 25 and is 2nd in points with 41. Cam's success earned him the Pepsi Offensive Player of the Month honours in October. Congratulations Cam!

Behind the scene, the Merchants are actively working on some special events to celebrate the team's 40th Anniversary. Please stay tuned for more information.

The Merchants would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year!

If you haven't been out to watch PJHL action lately, you don't know what you are missing. The on-ice product is fast, skilled and family friendly. If you are from the area, you will probably recognize several names on the Merchants roster.

Please come out and support your local Junior hockey team.

Little Britain Merchants Welcome New Staff

After a disappointing 2017-2018 season, the Little Britain Merchants knew that some off season moves would be required in order to revitalize the team. Team President Art Field is very pleased to Steve Trumbull, Blaine Harris and Randy West to the team

Steve "Nipper" Trumbull will take over the reigns as head coach. Steve has over 20 years experience both coaching and teaching skills development. This will be Steve's third tenure with the Merchants on the coaching side and the first time as head coach. Steve has also spent the past 7 seasons with the Central Ontario Wolves organization, coaching four different age groups during that time.

As a player, Nipper spent 5 seasons in Junior hockey including a couple of stints with the Merchants. He still holds the Merchants regular season point record with 47 goals and 71 assists. Steve is looking forward to the opportunity of turning the Merchants around.

Blaine Harris has been recruited to assist with the executive side of the hockey team. Blaine is a former Merchants defenceman and played along with Trumbull in the late 80s and early 90s. Blaine has many years of experience on both the coaching and executive side, having been involved in both minor hockey and rep baseball.

Randy West joins the team as General Manager. Randy comes to the Merchants from the Central Ontario Wolves where he wore many hats in various roles in both the executive and coaching.

The Merchants are excited to welcome Steve, Blaine and Randy to the team and look forward to a renewed focus heading in to the 2018-2019 PJHL season.
