Syracuse Stars Junior Hockey
A Tradition of Excellence Since 1985
In March, the Syracuse Stars announced the relocation of three teams to the Utica area. The various teams include: NCDC Tuition free, Premier Juniors, and U-18 Tier 1 Midget. The Syracuse Stars are members of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL), the largest Junior and Midget league in the United States. The USPHL places hundreds of players into the ranks of NCAA hockey annually. The NCDC level represents the highest level of junior hockey ever played in Central New York.
The 2018-2019 season will mark the 33th season of the Syracuse Stars. The Syracuse Stars are the oldest Junior Hockey organization in the United States, still operated by original ownership. A few notable alumni of the Syracuse Stars include: Robert Esche, Dustin Brown, Brian Gionta; Ryan Callahan; Tim Connolly; Matt Murley; Robbie Schremp; Tim Sestito; Tom Sestito; Colby Cohen; Jeremy Morin, are just a few of our notable Stars . In total, over $200 million raised in pro contracts and college scholarships.
The Syracuse Stars will feature four teams this upcoming 2018-2019 season: NCDC Tuition free Junior, Premier Juniors, U-18 AAA, and U-16 AAA. The Stars now have the entire ladder in place so that local players may remain at home and reach their collegiate and professional hockey goals. We will draw players in from all over the world. We are seeking local CNY families looking to get involved and support to host players for this upcoming 2018-2019 hockey season.
Host families play a large role in the success of the organization by opening up their homes to players from all over the United States and beyond. Players pay a billeting fee to their host families to cover all of their expenses. Our players range in age from 16-20.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of helping these driven student-athletes relocate to Central New York. If you are interested in hosting a player, please contact, Nicole Kirnan Kelly at nkirnan@hotmail.com.
