Host Families

Host Families Needed for the Summer Season

Host Families Needed for Athletics Summer College Season!

1. What is a host family?
A host family is a special family that agrees to host a member or members of the Concord A's summer collegiate team for the Southern Collegiate Baseball League season which begins in May 28th and runs through July 31st.  We do our best to match up players and hosts with similar interests so that this can be an overall positive experience for the player and your family.  This is a great opportunity for you to impact kids’ lives through baseball and create relationships that extend far beyond the game.

2. What are the responsibilities of the host family?
A host family will provide a place for the hosted player to live in during the season and will communicate any household rules or expectations to player concerning their stay. Host families are asked to take the player in as one of your own, but are not responsible for all meals, transportation, laundry or any other services for the player.  However, host families usually integrate the players into daily life with the players participating in the family events as they are comfortable with.

3. What are they responsibilities of the hosted player?
Hosted players are responsible obeying house rules and for communicating their schedules as to when games, practices or other activities that will keep them out late or overnight. Hosted players are responsible to keep their living quarters clean and straight to the satisfaction of the Host Family..

4. Why should anyone be a host family?
It’s a great opportunity to get to know and enjoy some really fine young men. They are typically very focused, as they juggle the rigors of attending College and playing College Baseball. It’s a great opportunity if you have younger children, especially young athletes in your family to have a role model that is accomplishing their goals of attending college and playing college level athletics. You and your family can make difference in these players lives as you integrate them into your daily life.  You will receive season tickets to the home games so that you can enjoy coming to games and watching your hosted player compete in the SCBL!

5. How do we become a host family or learn more about it by asking specific questions?
Call or email David Darwin with your questions or to sign up to host a Concord Athletic Collegiate Player.
