HOST FAMILIES

Host Families

The lifeblood of our organization is host families.  Many local families in the community host a Waves player from the first week of June through the beginning of August. Contact our host family coordinator Jennifer Petruccelli at oswhostfamilies@gmail.com.  Help a college ballplayer achieve his dreams and build relationships that will last a lifetime!

"Tonya, Ben and I have had the pleasure of hosting Ocean State Waves players for two seasons now….and are looking forward to our third.  The experience has been not only very rewarding, but has provided us with a deeper understanding of the Division I college baseball process.  The players that have lived with us have become part of our family.  We have shared in their successes and failures on the baseball field, had multiple family dinners just talking about baseball and learned about the paths they have taken to be recruited, drafted and secure an education.  These experiences have been especially impactful on our soon to be fourteen year old son.  He has thoroughly enjoyed having our home open to the players (we have hosted 5 players in two years), listening to their stories, working out with them in the back yard or at the indoor facility and learning from their mistakes.  He stays in touch with most of them as they have become role models.  Thank you for providing us with this opportunity.  I would recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning a lot about baseball, making new friends (we keep in touch with all of their parents) and giving a little back to the community.  Congratulations on your success and Roll Waves!!" - Bilotti Family

Become a Host Family for

The Ocean State Waves

Become a host family to a college baseball player, and make a friend for life and lifelong memories for your family!

Our players become an integral part of our community and your family.

As a host family, you would be responsible for providing your player(s) with a clean and healthy living environment for about ten weeks during the summer.  Players arrive the first week of June and generally depart in early to mid-August, depending on The Waves success in the playoffs.  Host families are not required to provide transportation or food.  Players have very busy schedules during the summer with 5-7 games per week including road trips to Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire.

Each Waves Host Family Receives:

  • A free family season pass to all NECBL games
  • Invitations to all Waves events
  • Free Summer Camp
  • Endless Summer Fun!
