The Ottawa Sting Minor Hockey Association is holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 11th. The AGM is a forum for the Executive Board to report to the members on the running of the Association and for members to express ideas, concerns, comments or questions. This year, the OSMHA Executive will be presenting a revised Constitution to the membership for approval. The Executive also approved revisions to the Rules and Regulations at its meeting of March 22, 2016; these revisions will be presented to the membership for ratification.
As the proposed revisions to the Constitution include changes to the members of the Executive, the vote on these revisions will be taken up first. Should the vote succeed, a corresponding slate of 2016-17 Executive members will be presented to the membership for voting.
Should the vote fail, a slate of 2016-17 Executive members corresponding to the current Constitution will be presented to the membership for voting.
Nominations for office with the OSMHA must be submitted to the Secretary in writing at least eight days in advance of the AGM. No nominations will be taken from the floor.
The proposed revisions to the Constitution will be posted on-line shortly. The slate of candidates standing for office per the current and the revised Constitution will be posted six days in advance of the AGM.
It is important for members of the Association to attend the AGM, get involved and make your vote count. To encourage a good turnout, the OSMHA is, once again, having a draw for free tryout registrations. There will be one (1) free tryout registration for every five (5) members in attendance – to a maximum of ten (10) free tryout registrations.
