Thanks for all the hard work you've put in to date as Ottawa Sting coaches! The executive, the parents and most importantly, the players, appreciate it!
Now that tryouts are complete, we move forward to the next chapter and turn to the page of player development. While we look to accommodate the categories of physical, mental, emotional and social development for each Ottawa Sting player, both off and on ice, the executive members have discussed a number of key variables that we would like to help you reinforce with your players this season.
As such, ACTIVATION (physical/mental), RECOVERY and GOALIE PROGRAMMING have been targeted as strong areas of interest/concentration for this campaign, as a supplementary focus to your seasonal plan and the goals you have already set. We will discuss these items more specifically, soon..
As the Director of Player Development, it has been my great honour to be representing the Ottawa Sting in our community and networking with so many great people/organizations on behalf of the executive, our coaches and our kids. We are excited to partner with organizations that provide top notch services that will enable our Ottawa Sting players to move on to the next levels with confidence and enthusiasm!
Through meetings, research and correspondence, the following short list of development organizations in the community has been compiled for your perusal. Further, they are noted here as they are seen as organizations that are able to provide services that will accommodate the growth and needs of Sting players, at all levels.

Attached here for your convenience, is the Hockey Canada Player Development Pyramid in the interest of keeping our Ottawa Sting players on the cutting edge with respect to individual technical skills, individual and team tactics, systems and strategies. This curriculum-like document, and it's weighed percentages provide a solid outline and basis for where players should be as they complete the current season and prepare to move on to the next.
