POTOMAC PATRIOTS BEGIN

PREPARATIONS FOR SLED HOCKEY

When the Prince William Ice Center was constructed in 2012, it’s NHL surface was designed to accommodate a future sled hockey program. The ice level entry and see-through boards in both zones provide bench areas for sled hockey players. “With the facility being ready it was just up to us as to when we started providing sled hockey programs,” remarked Patriots GM RJ Zeigler. “While we were in Florida last month at the USA Hockey Winter Meetings we were able to gain the support of USA Hockey and the USA Warriors program. Now we are working towards setting up some special events such as charity games and free clinics.” The Potomac Patriots, through a partnership with the Prince William Ice Center, will continue to explore and provide new and exciting opportunities for youth hockey players of all ages, skill levels, genders, and physical capabilities. If you are interested in helping support the Potomac Patriots Sled Hockey Program please contact General Manager RJ Zeigler at rzeigler@pwice.com. New updates will be posted on the Patriots web page at www.potomacpatriots.net.
