Barrie Baseball offers two different types of Select Teams based on the total players available in that particular division along with the level of interest and leadership available for the team.

This type of Select Team will be formed from house league division players. Players will play on a BMBA house league team and as an addition, they will be able to attend 2-3 Select Ontario Baseball Association (SOBA) sanctioned weekend tournaments. House league team commitments will take priority over Select activities.
If interest is warranted in the division, full open tryouts will take place after the start of the House League season. Dates and times to be determined in mid May.
This type of Select Team will play on just a Select Team and will take part in league play as part of the York Simcoe Baseball Association (YSBA) Select Division which is affiliated with the Select Ontario Baseball Association (SOBA).
If interest and leadership warrants, tryouts for this type of team can take place in mid September. If there is not sufficient interest or leadership in place, full open tryouts will be attempted the first of May. League play starts after the May long weekend and culminates with the York Simcoe Championships in mid August and the Select Ontario Baseball Championships on Labour Day weekend.
