New Jersey Jr Titans Juniors

TEAM

The Titans organization offers teams at all levels from Mites to Juniors.  Our Junior teams compete in the Eastern Hockey League and the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League.  This is one of the 11 Junior Tier III leagues recongized by USA Hockey.

Our Youth teams skate in the Atlantic Youth Hockey league which is the only Tier 1 (AAA) league in the Atlantic District. Our other teams skate in the NJYHL at Tier 2.  We are also members of the North American Prospects league, an affiliate league of the North American Junior Hockey League.  The rosters for these teams contain our best 16U players and 18U players.  Finally we have a girls program that competes in the MAWHA

Tier 1 hockey is the most competitive level of youth hockey. There is a higher economic commitment and more travel. We compete in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League with 6 NJ clubs, and 14 from out of state. Teams are broken up by birth year, so there can be 2 for each level.  “Minor” teams are in their first year whereas “Major” teams have players in their second year at a level.  Some midget divisions use American and National as they have mixed age groups. District winning “Major" or "National” teams compete national championship tournament. Minor or American team champions also qualify for the district tournament.

We also field Tier 2 teams at each level that competes in the NJYHL. The New Jersey Youth Hockey League is made up of 36 clubs throughout the state.  The DVHL also has clubs that offer good competition at the Tier 2 level. There is no major or minor distinction, age groups are broken by letter designation "AA, A or B". Often B teams have more of the younger players. Clubs often have more than one team at a particular level. The league has a playoff structure and there is a national tournament at Bantams and above for District champions.
