Bell Sensplex: Bell Capital Cup

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1.Does the Bell Capital Cup accept credit cards?

A: Unfortunately, no we do not. The best way to pay is to make out a cheque payable to the OIHF, and send it to:

1000 Palladium Drive

Ottawa, Ontario

K2V 1A5

2.Once I register and send in my registration fee, what else do I need to submit as part of the registration process?

A: We will need your team photo for the tournament program, along with your roster. If you have not taken your team photo by Nov. 1st please feel free to use an informal photo from practice or from another tournament. If you do not submit a team photo you will not be represented in the program, which is included in the welcome bags for each team.

    3.How do I opt-in to play a friendly game?

A: There is an option to select your preferred time slot and to opt-in for a friendly game when you register online. There is no guarantee that you will get the time slot that you have requested, but we will do our best to accommodate everyone. Priority on the later time slots will be given to teams traveling the furthest distance.

4.How do I opt-in to participate in the Skills Competition?

A: An email will be sent out to all teams regarding the Skills Competition. AAA teams will play in an All Star Game, in which attendance is mandatory. All other teams have the option to participate in the Skills event.

5.My team would like to attend an NHL game while we are in town. Who do I contact to purchase tickets to the Sens game? How do I know we won’t play that night, or early the next day?

A: Bell Capital Cup teams will receive a ticket offer to purchase tickets at a discount rate to see a Sens game during the tournament. Once the NHL schedule is released, the date and opponent will be confirmed. If you purchase tickets through the tournament offer, the Bell Capital Cup staff will be notified that you are attending the game, and schedule relief will be provided to those who attend the game (no tournament games that night, and we will try to avoid making you play too early the next day).

6.Are mouth guards mandatory? What are the rules for equipment, penalties, and suspensions?

A: Please click on this link to view all of the playing rules, equipment regulations, and assessment of penalties http://bellcapitalcup.ca/view/capitalcup/2015-bell-capital-cup-rules/playing-rules-penalties

7.Why do I need to bring copies of birth certificates?

A: You are not required to submit or provide this information, but we do ask that all team managers bring copies of each player’s birth certificate or passport with them. It is rare that they will be required, but we have had instances in past years where proof of birthday/identity was required.

A: There will be a pin trading station at the Esso Fanfest event, which will take place from December 27th - December 28th at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata. In addition to the pin trading station, you can Fanfest is a carnival type event that is held indoors featuring interactive hockey themed games, giveaways from sponsors, a trophy display, and more.
