Director of Player Operations and Travel Management

Sophomore, Reynoldsburg, Ohio: Paul King, our new Director of Player Operations and Travel Management was influenced by the Copperheads being one of two organizations that is operated by students. King is looking forward to traveling alongside the team and exploring the new geographical locations throughout the season. As a director, King wants to further his knowledge within his position to apply them to his professional career and school courses.

Director of Community Relations and Ticket Sales

Freshman, Athens, Ohio: Adison McClain, our new Director of Community Relations and Ticket Sales is our one and only local, born and raised in Athens. McClain wants to build a stronger relationship between the Copperheads and Athens County by setting up more community related events to create awareness that the Cheads are a “Community Owned Student Ran” organization. In this season, McClain is excited to make new memories and gain experience in a broad spectrum of departments to show Athens how amazing the Copperheads can be.

Director of Marketing and Promotions

Junior, Columbus, Ohio: Josh Fischer, a returner Cheads member, is our new Director of Marketing and Promotions. Fischer’s exceptional experience last year made it an easy decision to return to the Copperheads to gain even more knowledge in the sporting industry in Athens. As GLSCL champions last year, Fischer looks forward to defending that title for this coming season. This directors position will help Fischer in becoming a better marketing professional in sports industry while giving back to the Athens community.

Director of Ballpark Operations

Senior, Akron, Ohio: Ryan Donahue, is our new Director of Ballpark Operations is another second-year Cheader who loved their experience being a Copperhead last season. Last summer Donahue was on game day staff and knew he wanted to stay working with Cheads. As former GLSCL Champions, Donahue is looking forward to bringing another championship back to Athens and learning more on the business operations side of sports. With graduation around the  corner, gaining more management and leadership experience will help take the next step in his career.

Co-Director of Partnership

Junior, Cincinnati, Ohio: Trevor Porta, our new Director of Partnership is planning to gain knowledge and skill in every position the Copperheads has to offer. Expanding his interests will create a wider range of positions for future jobs. In this upcoming season, Porta is looking forward to watching the Copperheads battle back to back GLSCL championships. After hearing about an exceptional experience with the Copperheads last summer, Porta decided to challenge himself to develop his professional skills while enjoying quality summer baseball.

Fun Fact: Porta has been to Hawaii and got the privilege of going to the Pro Bowl.

Co-Director of Partnership

Sophmore, Westerville, Ohio: Chris McNally, is our new Director of Partnership looking to take on a large responsibility and gain an extraordinary experience joining a student-run summer league baseball organization. Aside from growing as an individual and team, McNally is seeking to diversify his skill set and appreciate how to run a successful business. Growing the Copperheads brand this season will help McNally effectively sell partnerships and build relationships for his future careers.

Co-Director of Ticket Sales

Sophomore, Oberlin, Ohio: Kurt Russell Jr, also known as KJ is our new Co-Director of Ticket Sales who is ecstatic for this upcoming season to give our fans a season that they will never forget! The Copperhead’s organization has been spoken highly of throughout the sports department at Ohio University and caught KJ’s ear leading him to the Directors position. This position is the best opportunity to learn multiple different aspects of a sports organization and how they all correspond to get the job done right. In this season, Russell wants to learn more about the sport industry along with building deep relationships with his fellow Cheaders. As a ticket sales member, breaking Bob Wren Stadium attendance records from previous years is on the top of the list this season.

Fun Fact:   Russell is a diehard superhero fan and big fan of Marvel! His top three favorite supers are Spiderman, Captain America and Black Panther.

Sophomore, Delaware, Ohio: Nick Roden, our new Director of Ticket Sales has a huge passion for sports and giving back to the Athens Community. Southern Ohio Copperheads caught his attention with the influence that the organization has on the public. Roden can’t wait to engage with our fans, work side by side with his fellow Chead members and have a great time watching the games!  As a member of the Cheads family, Roden plans to gain sales experience while making connections and continually to learn the business side of sports.

Fun Fact: Roden has started his own small business at the age of twenty!

Co-Director of Media and Communications

Graduate Student, Leesburg, VA: Kathryn Hammler, our new Director of Media and Communications has taken this opportunity to grow her knowledge and skill set in this department to benefit future career opportunities. She is currently enrolled in Ohio University's dual MBA/MSA program and hopes to work in professional baseball after graduation. This season, Hammler is exciting to collaborate with her co-workers while watching the Cheads take another championship title.

Fun Fact: Kathryn is afraid of heights, but has been skydiving and bungee jumping twice.

Co-Director of Media and Communications

Sophomore, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Lizzie Schoonmaker, our new Director of Media and Communications is ecstatic to be a first-year Copperhead to build connections within the Athens community. In this season, Schoonmaker will foster development in the community from her relationships with her fellow Cheads staff and the players.  As she gains amazing Cheads experience as a student leader, Schoonmaker wishes to walk away with measurable skills and unique perspectives that will open new doors for her career.  

Fun Fact: Schoonmaker has a marketing internship with the Pittsburgh Penguins last summer.

Director of Merchandise and Special Projects

Sophomore, Livemore, California; Troy Forward, our new Director of Merchandise and Special Projects is looking forward to a great season with the Copperheads team and meeting the Athens community. Forward has heard amazing things from directors in recent years, and wanted to join the excitement and experience that comes with working for the Cheads. Additionally, Forward wants to build his overall business skills and immerse himself in what it means to be community oriented.
