About - Orr Division

In 2016 the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League joined the other seven Junior C leagues in the Ontario Hockey Association to create the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) and was renamed the Orr Division. The Orr Division is part of the East Conference along with the Tod Division.

The Orr Division was named after Jim Orr, a true friend to Junior hockey. Jim served as the League Convenor of the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League from 1990 to 2016.

The Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League started out as the Central Lakeshore Junior C League in 1970 when the Suburban Junior C Hockey League divided into two leagues. The Central League was made from the easterly teams, while most of the westerly teams formed the Mid-Ontario Junior B Hockey League.

In 1972, the Eastern Junior B Hockey League was also divided up, half to the Metro Junior B Hockey League and the other half joined the Central League. In 1986 the Central Lakeshore Junior C League become the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League and is now the Orr Division of the PJHL’s East Conference.
