About - Tod Division

In 2016 the Empire B Junior C Hockey League joined the other seven Junior C leagues in the Ontario Hockey Association to create the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) and was renamed the Tod Division. The Tod Division is part of the East Conference along with the Orr Division.

The Tod Division was named after Wayne Tod who served a number of years as league convenor and statistician and also served as a Director for the OHA and the Ontario Hockey Federation.

The Empire B Junior C Hockey League started in 1959 as the Eastern Ontario League, which became the Quinte-St. Lawrence League in 1973. In 1986 the league merged into the Central Junior C Hockey League, until the league reformed in 1989 as the Eastern Ontario League again. The league changed its name in 1995 to the Empire B Junior C Hockey League to avoid ongoing confusing with the neighbouring Ottawa District Hockey Association’s Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League.
