Coaching Staff

Clayton Hicks, Field Manager

Clayton becomes the first on field manager for the Hannibal Hoots in 2018. Currently he is the head assistant coach at Danville Area Community College in Danville, IL. At DACC, Clayton is responsible for the pitching staff and player recruitment. 
 
Hicks is a graduate of Quincy University, where he completed is successful playing career. During his two years at Quincy University, Hicks compiled 132.2 innings, 9 wins and 104 strikeouts. He earned All-Conference recognition as a starter in his senior season. Prior to Quincy University, Hicks pitched for Danville Area Community College. He was a work horse for the Jaguar’s pitching staff totaling 164.1 innings, grabbing 14 wins, and striking out 157 batters. 
 
During his time at DACC Clayton has gained valuable experience learning from one of the most respected coaches in the region. Tim Bunton, the Head Coach for DACC speaks volumes of the work ethic and tireless pursuit of perfection demonstrated by the newly hired Hoots manager. “Coach Hicks is a fierce competitor. He knows first hand what it takes to be successful at this level. He demands the same type of approach from our guys here at DACC. He will be a great fit in Hannibal!”
 
Clayton played two years at Quincy University for Matt Stembridge, the Hoots General Manager. “We are excited to have Coach Hicks with us here in Hannibal. I have known Clayton for the better part of 8 years. He has and continues to gather resources and information in an effort to create growth as a professional. He is a seeker, looking for and digesting anything he can to improve his ability to coach and lead people. I admire that.”
 
Coach Hicks will be responsible for roster management and player development in 2018.
