HANNIBAL HOOTS HOST FAMILIES

The Hannibal Hoots are looking for Host Families to "adopt" players during the season. Host Families play a crucial role in summer collegiate baseball, as most of the players on the Hoots roster are not from the area.

As NCAA student-athletes, Hoots players are not allowed to accept pay for playing in the Prospect League. As a result, the Hoots rely on local families to house their players.

Host families are only obligated to provide a spare bedroom and access to a bathroom, laundry facilities, and host families are encouraged to include the player in family meals and activities when time allows.

Hosting a Hoots player can be a rewarding experience for the host family. Players are excellent role models for young children and teenagers, and are great company for the entire household. Often, players and host families hare a friendship that lasts well beyond the end of the season.

If you are interested in hosting a Hannibal Hoots player, please contact the Hoots at hannibal@prospectleague.com, or phone, (573) 629-2018 for additional information.

Testimonials

Jerry and I have hosted summer league ball players for three years and are planning to do so again this summer.  The Hoots management team is working hard to bring first rate baseball back to Hannibal.  We're excited to be a part of this as a host family.  Getting to know players and their families has been such a fun and rewarding experience.  Our players have stayed in contact with us through phone calls, texts and visits.  We celebrated one player's mother's birthday in Tennessee and another player's opening season in Las Vegas.  They're like family!

We've only been a host family for one year, but during that summer we were blessed with the most respectful and polite young men.  We really enjoyed having them in our home.  We still keep in contact and even went to San Diego to visit there.  They become family and we plan on continuing that relationship.
