AMAZING YEAR IN SOFTBALL!!!

Every year our objective at Lakehill is to have everyone improve their skills and abilities across the season. That was clearly achieved again this year. At Lakehill we do not put winning on the field as our first measure of success, but it is also great when performance on the field matches developmental success. In that category, Lakehill Softball has had our most successful season ever.

For the first time we have 5 softball teams playing ball into July including 4 teams participating in Provincials:
--U10 "Lakehill Legends" team is off to Burnaby for the "Oakeys U10 Tournament" this weekend;
--U14B is off to Provincials in Surrey July 14-16;
--U16B is off to Provincials in Nanaimo July 14-16;
--U18B is off to Provincials in Kelowna July 14-16;
--U19C is off to Provincials in Chilliwack July 7-9.

Good luck to everyone continuing on and thanks again to all for your support of Lakehill Softball!

Best,
Paul

Upcoming indoor practice sessions and B team try outs

Hello Lakehill Girls Softball families,

I am writing about our upcoming softball indoor practice sessions and B team try outs. Our record of success at districts and beyond begins each your with our pre-season sessions. These help refine techniques, skills, and abilities and engage the players for the upcoming season.  We hope to see strong participation in pre-season indoor gym practices again for 2017!

Pre-season indoor practices for players interested in getting ready for the season and/or playing B level softball begin in January and run until the March break!  Please attend the pre-season practices for your respective age category:

Also, please remember that any parents interested in coaching this upcoming season are welcome to assist and participate.  It’s a great way to learn some new techniques and drills.

If you have any questions related to the B team try outs or age division assessments, or are interested in playing B level fastball but unable to attend the scheduled pre-season practices or tryout dates, please contact Lori Zehr (zehrl@camosun.bc.ca).

PLEASE NOTE that this year our pre-season training sessions will be by donation in order to support increased costs in gym rentals, a new pitching machine, replacement equipment, and clinic expenses.  The recommended donation is recommended $20 for the winter sessions (which works out to $2 per session).  Thank you for your support.
 AND ALSO: A limited number of new indoor practice t-shirts will also be available for $10 each – available the first weeks in January.

Details about our specialized pitching and catching clinics are being communicated separately.

Looking forward to a great 2017 season!
