November Players of the Month
We are pleased to announce the PIHL Players of the Month for November
Varsity AAA – Ryan Heil – North Allegheny
Junior goalie Ryan Heil had a stellar month between the pipes for North Allegheny. He led the team to four straight wins during the month as well as the top spot in the division standings. He finished the month with a GAA of 1.0 as well as a 95.8% save percentage. He didn’t give up more than a goal in any of his four starts during the month. He also currently sits at the top of the overall leaderboard in GAA and save percentage.
Varsity AA – Nolan Puhala – Plum
Nolan Puhala, a Senior forward from Plum takes the honor for player of the month at the AA division. Nolan paced his team’s scoring with 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points during the month of November. Plum climbed to second in the standings with three straight wins. Nolan had at least 2 goals in all his team’s game during November. He sits at the top of the AA leaderboard in points and goals scored.
Varsity A – Kyle Wensel– Wheeling Catholic
Wheeling Catholic has been climbing up the standings of the A division after a strong month of November. They were led by Senior forward Kyle Wensel. Kyle led Wheeling Catholic in scoring for the month with 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points in three games played. He also added 1 game winning goal as well.
Varsity D2 – Nathan Hilzendeger – Trinity
The Trinity hockey club had a big month of November collecting four wins and one loss. Senior forward Nathan Hilzendeger was a major factor in those four wins. Nathan led the team in scoring with 14 goals and 5 assists for 19 points in five games played. He had multiple hat tricks during the month as well as 2 game winning goals. Nathan received high praise from his head coach regarding his leadership and work ethic on and off the ice.
NOTE- All players selected for Player of the Month will receive tickets and be recognized at the December 12th Pittsburgh Penguins home game. For the player’s that have games on the 12th they will be recognized at a Penguins game at a later date.
