PIHL JANUARY PLAYERS OF THE MONTH
We are pleased to announce the PIHL Players of the Month for January
Varsity AAA – John Parks – North Allegheny
Senior forward John Parks had a stellar month of January for North Allegheny. Parks finished the month with 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 points. He had 3 multi point games as well as recording at least 1 point in all 6 of North Allegheny’s games during the month. Parks led the way on the North Allegheny power play chipping in 2 goals. He was also a AAA all star game participant.
Varsity AA – Joey Sell – Moon
The class AA player of the month award for January belongs to Senior defenseman Joey Sell of Moon High School. Moon had a dominating month going 5-0. Sell was a big part of that success. He scored 3 goals and 5 assists for a total of 8 points during the month. Sell had 3 multi point games during the month. Sell also led the way in a big 3-2 OT win against Mt. Lebanon. Sell scored the game tying goal and the OT winner in the game.
Varsity A – Alex Evans – Chartiers Valley
Chartiers Valley currently sits tied for 1st place in the Class A West Division. Senior forward Alexander Evans has helped lead the way for Chartiers Valley all season long. Evans had a banner month of January. He helped lead the team to a 3-0-1 record during the month. He scored 1 goal and chipped in 11 assists for a total of 12 points in January. Evans is also organizing a fundraiser for Chartiers Valley’s game on February 20th for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. He hopes to raise awareness of the disease as well as money to find a cure.
Varsity D2 – Tyler Wolf – Carrick
The Class D2 January player of the month award belongs to Carrick’s Tyler Wolf. Tyler is a Senior forward and the team’s leading scorer. He scored 8 goals and 6 assists for a total of 14 points during the month of January. He also had 5 multi point games in which he never scored less than 2 points. Wolf was also selected to the Class D2 all star game in which he scored a hat trick for team Black.
