PIHL December Players of the Month
We are pleased to announce the PIHL Players of the Month for December
Varsity AAA – Chris Conway – Bethel Park
Senior defenseman Chris Conway had a very impressive month of December. His first game of the season came in December due to an injury to begin the season. Conway led his team in scoring for the month with 5 goals and 7 assists for a total of 12 points. He provided a huge boost to the power play as well collecting 4 power play goals. He also helped lead Bethel Park to a 3-1 record in December including a big win against 1st place North Allegheny. His 3 points per game average is first in the AAA division.
Varsity AA – Jared Gerger – Hempfield
The Hempfield hockey team had a strong month of December going 4-1 and climbing up the AA standings. Sophomore forward Jared Gerger was a huge part of Hempfield’s successful Month. Gerger scored an outstanding 11 goals in 4 games. He chipped in 5 assists as well for a total of 16 points during the month. He currently sits 2nd in goals scored in the AA division. Gerger also made a big impact on special teams scoring 2 power player goals and 2 shorthanded goals.
Varsity A – Paul Knerr – Baldwin
Baldwin currently sits in 2nd place in the A West Division with a record of 7-3-1. Baldwin has been led by the consistent play of Senior forward Paul Knerr at both ends of the ice. Knerr has scored at least one point in every game this season. He is averaging an impressive 2.2 points per game for the season. During the month of December Knerr led Baldwin in scoring with a stat line of 3 goals and 3 assist for a total of 6 points in 3 games. He also chipped in 1 power play goal.
Varsity D2 – Nicholas Frantz – Meadville
Sophomore forward Nicholas Frantz had a stellar month of December for Meadville. He helped lead them to a 3-0 record during the month. Frantz dominated in their 3 games played. He scored 8 goals and added 4 assists for a total of 12 points. He also was a key contributor on special teams amassing 2 power play goals and 1 shorthanded goal scored. Frantz is currently 3rd overall in points scored and goals scored for the season in Division 2.
NOTE- All player’s selected for Player of the Month will receive tickets and be recognized at the January 22nd Pittsburgh Penguins home game
