ROB MCFADDEN

A product of the Dresden Minor Hockey Association, “Farmer” signed with the Dresden Jr. Kings at age 16. Although not drafted he received a tryout for the Guelph Platers of the OHL. Under the excellent leadership of Wayne Jacklin, Rob played with the Kings for several years. He was eventually named Captain & experienced a very memorable year with the team winning the Great Lakes Jr. C Championship title in 1983-84. They went on to play for the OHA Clarence Schmalz Cup and lost in game seven of the semi finals.

Known mostly for his defensive play, he was privileged to play with some awesome players . Many of them local talent who went on to higher levels in their careers.

From there, he went on to play Lumberking, & to the present day Dukes hockey club & enjoys the game to this day!

Rob married his #1 fan Chris & together they have two grown sons, Tyler (also a Jr King alumni) & Josh( goalie). Aside from his personal achievements on & off the ice, Rob’s most rewarding moments have come from coaching his sons and their teammates, specifically at the Pee Wee & Bantam level where they obtained back to back OMHA & North American Silver Stick Championships with Dresden in 2001-2002 & 2002-2003. Hockey is like a second family and he cherishes the friendships developed through the greatest game on earth!
