Jazz Matthew Dickey win GLSCL Pitcher of the Week
GLSCL PITCHER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 2

MATTHEW DICKEY - RICHMOND JAZZ - UT MARTIN
Matthew Dickey struck out 10 batters against the Licking County Settlers in a 9-4 win on June 15. Dickey’s 10 punch outs are the most by a GLSCL pitcher during the 2022 season. He went seven innings giving up only one walk in earning his first win of the season.
The Tallahassee, Florida native is in his second season with the Jazz. He went 3-1 with one save in nine appearances, four of which were starts. Dickey threw 32.1 innings for Richmond striking out 35 batters in 2021.
Dickey pitched for the University of Tennessee at Martin in the spring. He was a regular weekend starter for the much of the season striking out 42 innings in 44.1 innings of work. Dickey racked up a season high eight strikeouts against Austin Peay on April 10.
He came to the Skyhawks after two seasons at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. Dickey is currently in the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.

CHASE HOPEWELL - HAMILTON JOES - UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI
Hopewell threw six hitless innings in a start on the road against the Xenia Scouts. He didn’t surrender a hit striking out seven batters while walking just two. Hopewell earned his first victory of the season in the 2-1 victory.
WILLIAM STULTZ - CINCINNATI STEAM - MIAMI UNIVERSITY HAMILTON
Stultz pitched six no-hit innings shutting out the Southern Copperheads during his time on the mound earning the victory in a 11-2 victory. He struck out four batters giving up two walks in the process.
MATT GAUER - LIMA LOCOS - INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY
Gauer went 2-0 during the week during two appearances for the Locos over the course of the week. He threw three innings of relief getting the win in a 7-1 victory over the Michigan Monarchs. Gauer followed that up striking eight batters in a five-inning shutout performance over the Royal Oak Leprechauns.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The league currently consists of 13 active franchises in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
