Richmond's Parker wins GLSCL Player of the Week

GLSCL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 4
(Time period June 25 through July 2)
CADE PARKER - RICHMOND JAZZ - GULF COAST STATE COLLEGE
Cade Parker went 11-for-22 for a .500 batting average over the course of the week. Eight of his 11 hits went for extra bases with four doubles, three triples and one home run. Parker drove in eight RBIs while compiling a 1.091 slugging percentage and a .633 on base percentage.
Parker’s week was highlighted on June 29 when he went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and three RBI’s with two runs scored in a 14-6 win over the Southern Ohio Copperheads.
Parker comes to the Jazz this summer from Panama City Beach, Florida. He started his career at Florida Atlantic University but missed the 2022 season recovering from elbow surgery. He decided to transfer and will begin playing at Gulf Coast Community College after the summer season concludes.
On the season, Parker is hitting .329 with two home runs, five RBIs and five doubles while splitting time between shortstop and second base. Parker is tied with Zack Horky of the Royal Oak Leprechauns with a GLSCL-leading four triples.

JACE RINEHART - SANDUSKY BAY ICE HAULERS - USC UPSTATE
Jace Rinehart for a .391 batting average going 9-for-23 with four home runs and seven RBIs. Rinehart hit a home run in three consecutive games highlighted by blasting two round trippers in an 8-4 win over the Jet Box Baseball Club on June 29. Rinehart is tied in a log jam for second place in the GLSCL with four home runs.
ADAM SCHNEIDER - CINCINNATI STEAM - NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY
Adam Schneider hit .429 for the week going 9-for-19 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs. Schneider was also a terror on the base paths stealing five bases and scoring five runs in six games played.
KYLE RATLIFF - SOUTHERN OHIO COPPERHEADS - SIU-EDWARDSVILLE
Kyle Ratliff went for a .380 batting average going 8-for-21 at the plate with two home runs and five RBIs. Ratliff hit a grand slam walk off home run triggering the mercy-rule in a 14-3 win over the Grand Lake Mariners on July 1. Ratliff leads the GLSCL with five home runs.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The league currently consists of 13 active franchises in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
