Southern Ohio's Rhein wins Pitcher of the Week
GLSCL PITCHER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 5

COLIN RHEIN - SOUTHERN OHIO COPPERHEADS - STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY
Colin Rhein pitched a six-inning complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over the Richmond Jazz on July 7. Rhein tied the GLSCL season high with 11 strikeouts while giving up just one hit and one walk. He only allowed three base runners when the game was called due to a stadium light malfunction.
On the season, Rhein is 1-2 for the Copperheads with a 4.21 ERA striking out 16 batters in 21 and 1/3 innings of work.
Rhein comes to the Copperheads from Stony Brook University. He redshirted as a freshman for the Seawolves who won its third consecutive America East Conference regular season title going 21-9 in league play.
The Lindenhurst, New York native should get time on the mound next season when Stony Brook moves into the Colonial Athletic Association.

COLBY GROMLICH - XENIA SCOUTS - MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY
Colby Gromlich pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout in a 4-0 victory over the Richmond Jazz on July 6. Gromlich struck out eight batters giving up four hits and walking just one batter.
MATT DICKEY - RICHMOND JAZZ - UT MARTIN transfer
Matt Dickey struck out 10 batters in seven shutout innings of work improving his record to 3-0 in a 6-0 win over the Hamilton Joes on July 4. Dickey leads the GLSCL at week’s end with 37 strikeouts for the season.
HAYDEN JATCZAK - MICHIGAN MONARCHS - SAGINAW VALLEY STATE
Hayden Jatczak made three relief appearances out of the Monarchs bullpen earning two saves. Jatczak threw five innings striking out 10 batters giving up just two hits and one run.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The league currently consists of 13 active franchises in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
