Hamilton's Ryan Novak wins Player of the Week

GLSCL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - June 24, 2024
Ryan Novak - Hamilton Joes - Miami University
Ryan Novak hit .500 for the week going 9-for-18 at the plate over the course of five games. Novak hit three doubles, one triple, hitting one home run while driving in nine RBIs. He slash line included a .545 on base percentage and a .944 slugging percentage.
On June 19, in the first game of double header, Novak went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Three of the four hits were of the extra base variety with two doubles and a solo home run. He also drove in five RBIs and stole a base to boot.
The Canton, Georgia native hit .273 for the Miami University as a freshman this past spring. Novak, who started 52 out of the Redhawks games, was fifth in the team with 38 RBIs and tied for third place with 13 doubles.
HONORABLE MENTION - Player of the Week
Justin Osterhouse - Muskegon Clippers - Purdue Fort Wayne
Justin Osterhouse joined the Muskegon Clippers and proved to be a welcome addition to the team. In his first six games, Osterhouse hit .429 going 9-for-25 with two doubles, nine RBIs and five runs scored. He finished the week going 3-for-3 with three RBIs in the second game of a double header the Muskegon won 10-3 over the Xenia Scouts.
Sebastian Alexander - Lima Locos - Coastal Carolina
Sebastian Alexander hit .389 for the Locos going 8-for 21 in six games for the Locos. Alexander ended the week with three multi-hit games. He was also a terror on the base paths stealing 11 bags on the week including four steals in an 11-2 win over the Hamilton Joes on June 23.
Alex Ungar - Southern Ohio Copperheads - Sacred Heart University
Alex Ungar only had the opportunity to play in three games this week due to the GLSCL’s unbalanced schedule for the 2024 season. Ungar took advantage of the limited chances going 7-for-14 at the plate during a three-game series at home against the Muskegon Clippers. He produced three hits each in back-to-back games for the Copperheads.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 7 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
