Below you will find some frequently asked questions about starting a GLSCL organization.

1.  How much is the fee to become of member?  Our franchise fee is currently $30,000 to be paid over a 5 year probation period.

2.  What is a typical budget for a season?  Our teams run between $55,000 and $105,000 budgets a year.  We keep it this low by keeping our travel reasonable and purchasing/making deals as a league.

3.  What kind of facility would I need?  Ideally we would like to have facilities that can seat at least 600 people.  The facility will need an electrified press box, permanent restrooms, and dedicated concession stand (hopefully you can serve beer). Your field would need adequate lighting (because we want to play night games).  The playing surface needs to be safe and comparable to any college field (D3 or above).  Having a tarp or turf is not a requirement but is strongly recommended.

4.  What kind of crowds would we need to draw?  Teams who can draw an average of 400 fans or more per night are successful in our league.

5.  When is the season?  Our regular season traditionally runs from early June to the end of July with 20-22 home dates.  Our playoffs run into the first week or two of August.

6.  Do you have to host players?  Hosting the players that travel from outside the area is a requirement.  Having a living facility or a host family network is very important.  The host family network needs to be developed early and it must continue through each season of operation.

7.  What kind of experiences do we need to provide for players?  You need to provide a quality summer experience for your players.  They need to improve their game (through quality competition and coaching).  Many coaches have college or professional experience.  The players need to be fed well (quality post-game meals), travel well (tour buses and vans and quality hotels), and treated well (good host families and a quality fan bases/game day experience).

8.  How does a typical game day look?  We want to simulate a college/minor league feel through generating excitement with a fan base, promos, etc.
